Description: The essential oil of frankincense contains more than 200 individual natural chemicals, giving the fragrance a very complex bouquet. There is considerable variation in the proportion of these components depending on the micro-climate where the trees grow, the season at which the resin is harvested, and a number of other factors.

Common Uses: This Indian frankincense has a light and clean fragrance, yet also has distinct terpenic notes characteristic of this species of Boswelia. The resin is harvested from wild trees, and is burned to purify the atmosphere. It has been used historically in Ayurvedic medicine. The therapeutic properties of Frankincense oil include use as an antiseptic, astringent, carminative, digestive, diuretic, sedative, tonic and expectorant. Frankincense oil is said to help rejuvenate an ageing skin , is a skin tonic and is effective with sores, carbuncles, wounds, scars and skin inflammation.
